SITA Co-Vice-Chairman suggested ASRLM officials to step-up work in the aspirational districts
Dispur, September 10: State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA), Assam Co- Vice-Chairman Ramen Deka today held a meeting with the officials of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission and State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) at Janata Bhawan today to know the slew of schemes of ASRLM. ASRLM officials were headed by State Mission Director Krishna Baruah who delivered a power-point presentation of the activities taken-up by the Mission in the state. In the meeting, the Director presented the activities of the SHGs, livelihood tracking
systems, flagship schemes, community wise producers’ groups and their progress. Taking cognizant of the activities of ASRLM, SITA Co-Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka commended the department in its endeavor to uplift rural livelihood. Shri Deka told the officials of ASRLM to scale up basic non-farm orientation training to SHG members and to take initiative to rehabilitate roadside women vendors to provide a proper vendor site to sell their products/goods. The Co-Vice-Chairman stressed that the Mission should give emphasis in the seven aspirational districts of Assam viz., Darrang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Baksa, Udalguri, Barpeta and Hailakandi to achieve the targets of the schemes and the progress will be reviewed after two months.
