State Government collaborates with CARE India for maximum coverage of COVID vaccination
24×7 COVID 19 Vaccination Centre inaugurated at Kahilipara, Guwahati
Dispur, September 9: As part of Assam Government’s initiative to hasten the COVID vaccination drive in Assam, a 24×7 COVID-19 vaccination centre was inaugurated by Dr. Lakshmanan S, Mission Director at Kahilipara on 8 th September. The centre will provide 24×7 free COVID vaccinations, at any time preferred by the beneficiaries, even during night hours. It may be mentioned here that Government of Assam along with CARE India has taken special effort to hasten the COVID vaccination drive in Assam , with special focus on nine districts namely Kamrup (M) , Barpeta, Dima Hasao, Dhubri, Goalpara, Karbi Anglong, South Salmara, Udalguri & West Karbi Anglong. This will include 24×7 COVID vaccination centre(s), mobile vaccination vans/boats and community mobilization efforts to ensure maximum coverage of COVID vaccination. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Munindra Nath Ngatey, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare), Gunajit Roy Choudhury, ADC (Vaccination), Kamrup Metro,Addl. CM &HO Kamrup Metro, DIO Kamrup Metro and representatives of CARE India. Further, 40 mobile vaccination teams including 200 staff/volunteers through mobile vans and boats for these nine districts of Assam will be inaugurated soon. These vans and boats will travel the most remote areas to ensure maximum coverage of COVID vaccination camps. CARE India will provide the required additional human resource, mobile vans and undertake mobilization drives to ensure maximum coverage in these areas.
