‘International Day of Differently Abled Persons’ Celebrated by ‘Voice of Needy’

Muhammad Afzal, Moirabari,Rongili Barta- Each year, the 3rd of December, which is celebrated worldwide as ‘International Day of Differently Abled Persons’, mainly promotes the rights of persons with disabilities. To mark this occasion, as well as to celebrate it, the ‘Bastradan Team’ of ‘Voice of Needy’ (a voluntary organisation) was assigned with the task of distributing clothes, keeping their well-being in mind. On the 3rd and 4th of December, they kickstarted off the donation drive by gifting sweaters, t-shirts, kurtas, mekhelas, blankets and many more clothing items to the children, adolescents and women with differently abled, belonging to a poor economic background and were residents of the Moirabari, Tatikata and Barchapari areas of Morigaon district. The volunteers also distributed pens to the students with special needs to further help them with their reading and writing, thereby encouraging them to attain their education so as to succeed in the struggle of life.
