SITA sponsored Civil Service Centre set up at Cotton University
Dispur, Rongili Barta- A preparatory mechanism to create the Eco system for encouraging the candidates from Assam to succeed in the All India Civil Services Examinations, State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) have signed Memorandum of Agreement(MoA) with five Universities/ Colleges of Assam and four Institutes has already started the project. Today on 9th August, 2023, Hon’ble Vice Chairman Sri Ramen Deka inaugurated Cotton University Civil Services Centre and handed the first installment fund to the Authorities to start the joint project namely- “Civil Services Study Centre at Universities and Colleges” at an official function held at Sudmersen Hall, Cotton University campus, Guwahati. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between SITA & Cotton University on 19th June, 2023 last leading up to the fund handing and inauguration of the study centre today. Hon’ble Vice Chairman Sri Ramen Deka handed over the first installment fund of Rs. 10 Lakhs (Rupees Ten Lakhs) only to Cotton University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka who received on their behalf. Inaugurating the centre, Hon’ble Vice-Chairman Sri Ramen Deka spoke a few words of encouragement to the students who aspires to do well in future. He says that determination and only hard word leads to success and advised the students to take this opportunity to do well in their civil service examination. Co-Vice Chairman Sri Dhruba Prasad Baishya, who was present in the programme also spoke a few words and says that bureaucrats are the permanent executives of the administration and the students should aim to reach that goal with the amenities provided to them now. Others who spoke on the occasion include Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Cotton University, Dr. Sangeeta Barthakur, Director i/c Capacity Building Centre, CU and Dr. Arindam Garg, Registrar, CU. The programme was attended by officials of SITA and faculty members of Cotton University including many students of the college. The purpose of the project is to provide motivation, proper guidance, basic infrastructure and study materials for the success of candidates from Assam in the All India level Civil Service Examinations.
