SIGNING OF PETROLEUM MINING LEASE DEED BETWEEN 1) HINDUSTAN

INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LIMITED (ASSAM OIL DIVISION) AND GOVERNMENT OF ASSAM

Guwahati,Rongili Barta-  Govt. of Assam has signed one (1) Petroleum Mining Lease block with 1) HINDUSTAN OIL EXPLORATION COMPANY LIMITED (HOEC), 2) OIL INDIA LIMITED, 3) INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LIMITED (ASSAM OILDIVISION) (JOINT VENTURE) in the Presence of Sri Jogen Mohan, Honb’le Minister, Mines and Minerals Deptt.and others, Govt. of Assam, Sri Arpan Saikia ,ACS Secretary to Mines and Minerals , Deptt. Sri Pranjit Wary, ACS, Joint Secretary, to Mines and Minerals, Deptt. Sri Debasish Gupta , Resident Executive of HOEC , Abhijit Buragohain, Chief General Manager from Oil India Ltd and K.Mohan General Manager, IOCL at the conference Hall of Office of The Directorate of Geology and Mining , Assam Dispur amidst a gathering of distinguished officials from State government, HOEC ,OIL,IOCL on 12 th May, 2022. Shri Ananda Kr. Das,ACS, Joint Secretary & Director (Geology & Mining), Government of Assam & Sri Debasis Gupta ,from HOEC ,Abhijit Buragohain from OIL and K.Mohan from signed the deed on behalf of Govt. of Assam. Shri Jogen Mohan, Honb’le Minister, has assured that Assam Govt. would provide all possible support to HOEC, OIL, and IOCL in its quest of hydrocarbon .Honorable minister said that it will enhance revenue of the exchequer and will bring prosperity to the state. He emphases the need of nation’s self-reliance in energy and economic growth of the country. Sri Debasis Gupta from HOEC , K.Mohan from IOCL and A. Buragohain from OIL expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister , Senior Officers from the state government for their august presence and assurance on support towards falicitation of E&P activity of HOEC,IOCL and OIL ,they shall make sincere efforts to achieve higher level of excellence through concerted efforts & effective participation with all its stakeholders. The PML Block is Dirok (AAP-ON-94/1) Mining Lease measuring an area of 75.94 sq.km in Tinsukia district of Assam which was granted for 20 years w.e.f. 25.08.2017. Production is going on condensate and natural gas in this block. The royalty those collected from this block in 2021-2022 is 43.96 crores. Still now from 2017 govt.of Assam received royalty about Rs.180.00 crores. Assam Government is expected to receive total more than 450.00 crores from this block.
