Governor visits Dhubri Saheb

Pays tributes to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb Ji

Guwahati,Rongili Barta-  Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on the occasion of the 347th Martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb ji, paid  heartfelt tributes at Dhubri Saheb and prayed for the overall progress of Assam and peace of the state.

Speaking at the Gurudwara, Prof.Mukhi said, “Guru Tegh Bahadur was rich in versatility. He introduced us to the true aims of life, taught us the reasons behind various human sufferings and showed us the path of peace and harmony. The story of courage and sacrifice of the ninth Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji is written in golden letters in the history. Sri Guru Sahib’s place is paramount among those who sacrificed their lives to protect their religion, human values, ideals and principles.”

The Governor also said, “Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji inspired his followers not to worry about the result, as everything is controlled by “Nanak”. He also beautifully depicted the omnipresence of God. He taught that God is present everywhere; Inside me, inside you, outside me and outside you. He instructed that having peace in every situation is the real path to “Jeevan Mukti”.

“The  courage and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur was exemplary. The present society is deeply indebted to Tegh Bahadur Ji. On this day we must take a pledge to work to fulfill and sustain the dreams of Guru Tegh Bahadur to strengthen the society that Sri Guru had dreamt of,” said Prof. Mukhi. He also said that the philosophy and teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur inspire humanity. He taught his followers how to overcome ego, greed, attachment and other imperfections.

The Governor hoped that “Sikh Representative Board Eastern Zone” would work with the aim of spreading the messages of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji as well as taking the golden history and tradition of Sikhs to the masses.
