Governor holds review meeting with agriculture department
Guwahati, December: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi held a review meeting for doubling the farmers’ income of Morigaon district with the Agriculture Minister and higher officials of the agriculture and the allied departments in Raj Bhavan today.
The meeting was conducted to boost agriculture and double the farmers’ income of Morigaon district. The Governor asked all the officers of the agriculture and allied departments to work in tandem with the aim to increase a higher agricultural output, create more avenues for the farmers and increase their income.
The meeting took place in presence of Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ashish Bhutani, Director Agriculture Vinod Seshan and Directors of Horticulture and Food processing, Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Fisheries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textile, Fishery, Sericulture, Irrigation, Director of Research(Agri) Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat, Managing Directors of ALPCo, WAMUL, ASWC, Chief Executive Officer ASAMB, Chief Engineer, PWD(EAPs).
Minister of Agriculture, Atul Bora assured the Governor that all the necessary actions are being taken to double the farmers’ income.
It may be mentioned that the Governor of Assam adopted Morigaon District for development of Agriculture and allied sectors with an aim to double the income of the farmers, to develop agriculture and to use it for the socio-economic development of the people of the state.
