Assam Governor greets people on the eve of Kati Bihu
Guwahati: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Kati Bihu. In a statement, Prof. Mukhi said, “Since Assam has an agrarian economy and majority of the people of the state are dependent on agriculture, celebrations of this bihu holds immense importance. Hope the auspicious lamp given in the fields consign the insects and help in giving high yields”. Bihu, which is an integral part of the culture of Assam, celebrations of Kati bihu will lead the crops to be healthy and free from insects, the Governor added.
