Governor interacts with Yuva Sangam Phase VII students, calls upon them to prepare themselves to serve nation with courage and dedication

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya today interacted with 49 students and five coordinators from Telangana, along with students of IIT Guwahati, as part of the Yuva Sangam Phase VII programme under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative at Lok Bhavan.

Interacting with the students, the Governor said that youth are a vital force in nation-building and urged them to cultivate a strong sense of duty towards the nation. He said this sense of duty, combined with hard work, discipline and perseverance, can transform the energy of the youth into a powerful force for building a Viksit Bharat.

Calling upon the students to be courageous and committed in their journey, the Governor cited the example of Captain Smit Machchhar who made the nation proud through his courage and dedication. He urged the young participants to draw inspiration from such exemplary young Indians and develop the courage, discipline and sense of responsibility to serve the nation.

Stressing the importance of staying connected with one’s roots, the Governor encouraged the students to learn about each other’s languages, cultures, traditions and history. He requested them to learn other languages, for instance Assamese should learn Telegu and vice versa to develop a sense of fellow feeling and strengthen mutual understanding and create a deeper sense of belonging.

The Governor also highlighted friendship as one of the most valuable outcomes of Yuva Sangam. He encouraged the students to remain connected even after the programme and said that the friendships formed through such exchanges can open avenues for future cooperation and contribute to strengthening national unity.

He advised the students to return to their respective places with not only memories of Assam but also the experiences, learning and friendships gained during the visit, carrying forward the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

Retired UPPCS officer and social worker Shri Ashok Kumar Sinha also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the significance of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. He spoke at length on the importance of mutual learning and understanding among the people of different regions, emphasising that sharing experiences, cultures, traditions and knowledge can further strengthen the unity and spirit of the nation.

Professor Dr. S. Arulmozhi, Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, University of Hyderabad, Associate Professor Dr. Nagaraju Mandali, Consultant, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Shri Surendra Nayak, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
