Guwahati, Rongili Barta : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted today of heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm at the isolated places in Guwahati city and across the state on today and the coming 3- 4 days due to current meteorological conditions and Monsoon scenario in the state.
The weather pattern suggests that thunderstorm with lightning with light to moderate rainfall (6 cm/day) is very likely to occur at isolated places in the city and in most of the districts of the state in the coming 3-4 days which may aggravate water logging, flooding, flash floods, slow vehicular movement, and increase the risk of localized landslides in vulnerable pockets. Daily commuters and long-distance travelers are requested to plan their routines accordingly, avoiding unnecessary movement during periods of intense rainfall. Residents in low-lying and hillside areas should stay alert for any signs of flooding or landslides. The status of the situation would be updated by ASDMA on its official website i.e. https://asdma.assam.gov.in/resource/assam-weather-forecast and on all its social media handles in time to time for general awareness.
