Lok Bhavan Assam celebrates Goa Statehood Day
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: In keeping with the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and the Government of India’s initiative to commemorate the Statehood Days of various States and Union Territories across the country, Lok Bhavan Assam celebrated the Statehood Day of Goa at a function held at its premises here today.

The programme highlighted Goa’s rich cultural heritage, historical legacy, vibrant traditions and its significant contribution to India’s progress and unity. The celebration served as a platform to foster greater understanding and appreciation of the unique cultural identities that collectively strengthen the nation’s social fabric.
Speaking on the occasion Joint Secretary Lok Bhavan, Arindam Barua, underscored the importance of such observances in promoting national integration and strengthening bonds among the people of different states. He also spoke on the historical and cultural linkages that unite the diverse regions of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Father Josly Fernandes of St. Xavier’s School, Pamohi, provided an insightful overview of Goa’s history, culture and tourism potential. He highlighted the State’s distinct identity, scenic beauty and enduring appeal as one of India’s most sought-after tourist destinations.
A documentary showcasing Goa’s heritage, art, architecture, festivals and natural beauty was screened during the programme, offering a glimpse into the State’s vibrant way of life.
