Assam Governor wishes on Raksha Bandhan

Guwahati, August 21: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi conveyed his greetings to the people of Assam on the eve of Raksha Bandhan.

         In a statement here today, Governor Prof. Mukhi said, “Raksha Bandhan is an occasion which celebrates the special bond between sisters and brothers, the bond which makes our society a unique one”.  On this occasion, sisters of Prajapita Brahmakumari, members of Marwari Mahila Ekta Manch, Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sanmilan, Marwari Sammelan Guwahati, Mahila Sakha and Kalyan Ashram today tied rakhi to the Governor at Raj Bhavan.

       Prof. Mukhi while expressing his gratitude thanked the sisters for tying him ‘Rakhi’. He also spent time and interacted with them and as a true Indian tradition shared sweets with them. Since Raksha Bandhan is a bond of protection between brothers and sisters which serves as a symbol of love, trust, togetherness, Prof. Mukhi thanked the organisations for promoting this age old bond of the society to make life even better and more meaningful.
