Establishment and Operationalization of TINKERING LABS in 10 Government Schools of Dibrugarh and Kamrup (Metro) districts 

Rongili Barta-  Aiming the vision to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mind-set, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, rapid calculations, measurements etc., Sumangal Foundation did raise funds from Donor Organization-SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited in establishing Tinkering Labs in ten (10) Government schools of Dibrugarh and Kamrup (Metro) districts (05 schools from each district). The ten (10) schools are –

The sole objective of setting up tinkering lab is to create workspaces that are suitable for young minds to learn innovation skills, develop ideas via hands-on activities, work and learn in a flexible environment. In addition, the project also aim towards empowering youth with the 21st century skills of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, design thinking, social and cross-cultural collaboration. 

In view of above, a Memorandum of Understating (MoU) was signed between Samagra Shiksha, Assam and Sumangal Foundation, Delhi on 9th January, 2023 at office of the Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019 in the august presence of Hon’ble Minister, Education Dr. Ranoj Pegu; Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Assam Dr. Om Prakash, IAS; representatives of SBI Cards & Payment Services Limited and Sumangal Foundation. The Principals/teachers of five (05) schools of Kamrup (Metro) district were also present in this auspicious event. 

The Project is planning to set up the Tinkering Lab in schools, conduct the training programme to the teachers & students and make it operationalize under the guidance of Sumangal Foundation, Delhi for a period of two (02) years.
