Governor visits Kamakhya Temple following Ambubachi
Expresses gratitude to devotees, temple authorities and all stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and orderly celebration
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, accompanied by the First Lady, Smt. Kumud Devi, visited the Kamakhya Temple today following the reopening of the temple after the annual Ambubachi. The Governor offered prayers to Maa Kamakhya and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity and development of the people of Assam.
Visiting the Shakti Shrine at the decent of ‘Nivritti’, which marks the culmination of the Ambubachi Mela, one of the greatest spiritual gatherings of the country, Shri Acharya this morning offered his puja at the sacred Shakti Peeth and prayed for the welfare and well-being of all sections of society. He also expressed his appreciation to the lakhs of devotees and pilgrims from across India and abroad whose participation contributed to the successful holding of the annual spiritual event.
Governor Shri Acharya commended the dedicated efforts of the Temple Management Committee, district administration, police personnel, sanitation workers, volunteers and various stakeholders for their coordinated and tireless service in ensuring the smooth, safe and peaceful conduct of the Ambubachi mela. He observed that the festival once again reflected India’s enduring spiritual traditions and the spirit of harmony and coexistence that binds people from diverse backgrounds.
Shri Acharya also conveyed his gratitude to the devotees for maintaining discipline, cleanliness and harmony throughout the festival period.
