Assam Governor inaugurates Project Yuva Bhagidari

NCC is contributing in strengthening the edifice of Atmanirbhar Bharat and New India: Governor

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya inaugurated Project Yuva Bhagidari, organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) North Eastern Region, at the K.B.R. Auditorium in Cotton University here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Acharya said that India is a country, which is a symbol of unity in diversity, and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) further strengthens this bond of unity. Established in 1948, NCC has built its identity as a vast organization upholding the values of discipline, service, and patriotism.

Shri Acharya also said that the journey of NCC has given a new direction to the lives of millions of young Indians. “I believe that NCC is not just an organization but a mission dedicated to the service of the nation. Today, as we speak of strengthening the foundation of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and New India, the role of NCC becomes even more significant”, added the Governor.

Shri Acharya expressed his happiness at the large number of cadets associated with NCC in Assam. He also shared happiness over the good number of cadets, nearly 18,000 female and 29,000 male who are giving NCC a fresh outlook. He highlighted the importance of Project Yuva Bhagidari in empowering youth and promoting nation-building.

The Governor said that the project aims to expand the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and encouraged NCC cadets to become ambassadors of cleanliness. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to make India clean and healthy, citing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as a people’s movement.

Shri Acharya further urged upon the cadets to participate with full enthusiasm and dedication in the campaign, emphasizing the importance of youth power in shaping India’s future. He congratulated the cadets for being part of this meaningful initiative and called for collective efforts to build a clean, healthy, and developed India.

 

It may be mentioned that Project Yuva Bhagidari has been conceptualized and designed to create mass movement on the specific community development issue like Swachh Bharat. The aim of the project is to carry out Social Service and Community Development engagement by NCC Cadets as educators and monitors to create a mass movement on Swachh Bharat Mission.

The programme was attended by Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Nandita Garlosa, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, Major General Gagan Deep, Vice-Chancellor Cotton University Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, NCC Group Commander Brigadier A.K. Bora along with a host of other dignitaries.
