Art Competition Organized by the Ramesh Chandra Baruah Memorial Committee in Dibrugarh: Distinguished Guests in Attendance
M Hashim Ali, Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta- The Ramesh Chandra Baruah Memorial Committee, in honor of one of Dibrugarh’s prominent leaders, organized an art competition today (19-01-2025) at Salt Brook School, Amolapatty, Dibrugarh, for students. Ramesh Chandra Baruah served as Assam’s Minister of Supply, Trade, and Excise from 1967 to 1971. Since 2013, the committee has been conducting various programs annually, including art competitions. This year’s competition saw the participation of around 300 students. The event commenced with the committee members, trust members, and family members garlanding the leader’s portrait. The event was hosted by the trust’s convenor, artist and pensioner Sadar Uddin Ahmed, and attended by several dignitaries, including writer, poet Dr. Intikabur Rahman, retired professor from Dibrugarh University; Dr. Parmananda Mahanta, retired principal of Kanai College Dhirendra Nath Baruah; Indira Baruah (Baruah’s daughter-in-law); Ranjit Kumar Baruah (his son); Bitopan Chaliha; retired principal Sehir Ahmed of Bagmibor Nilamani Phukan High School; and Anil Duwara, along with other committee members.
