Five Convicted in Separate Criminal Cases by Nagaon Court

Nagaon,Rongili Barta: The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge No. 3, Bankim Sharma, in Nagaon has convicted five individuals in separate criminal cases after completion of trial proceedings.

In a case registered at Raha Police Station (Case No. 154/2016), Dimbeswar Baishya was convicted under Sections 498A and 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sen-tenced to two years’ simple imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000. The court directed that the fine amount, if realized, be paid to the victim.

In another case registered at Nagaon Sadar Police Station (Case No. 1671/2020), Jiten Sharma was convicted under Section 436 IPC and sentenced to seven years’ simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000.

The court also convicted Habibur Rahman and Gulzar Hussain in connection with Nagaon Sadar Police Station Case No. 1269/2018 under relevant provisions of the IPC. Both were sentenced to three years’ simple imprisonment and fined ?2,000 each.

Meanwhile, in a murder case registered at Dhing Police Station (Case No. 113/2014), Zakir Hussain alias Babu was convicted under Sections 302 and 201 IPC. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of?10,000 for the murder charge, along with an additional three-year prison term and a fine of 75,000 under Section 201 IPC.

The verdicts were delivered following the completion of trial proceedings in the respective cases.
