Lok Bhavan, Assam celebrates Bihar foundation Day
Guwahati,Rongili Barta : Lok Bhavan, Assam, under the leadership of Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, observed Bihar foundation day at a function held at the GMCH auditorium here.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Acharya highlighted the historical depth and cultural richness of Bihar, and its continuing role in the country’s development. He said progress in the state has been driven by the hard work and talent of its people.

The Governor extended greetings to the people of Bihar and members of the community living in Assam. He referred to the region’s long association with knowledge, learning, and spiritual traditions, noting its connection with Gautama Buddha, Mahavira, Aryabhata, and Chanakya.

He also spoke about early democratic traditions, citing the ancient republic of Vaishali as an example of participatory governance.

Highlighting the connection between Assam and Bihar, the Governor said the two regions share cultural links shaped by interaction, respect, and common traditions. He added that these ties can be further strengthened through cooperation in areas that support social and economic development.

The Governor noted contributions from the state in fields such as education, agriculture, and culture, and referred to festivals like Chhath, which are now observed across the country.
