Successful celebration of Bir Bagh Hazarika,s 384 birth anniversery at Dibrugarh
M Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta- Like every year this year also Bir Bagh Hazarika’s 384th Birth anniversary was Celebrated on 22, 23 november at Dibrugarh by Bir Bagh Hazarika Memorial Foundation in Collaboration with local people. The two day programme was held at Jyoti, Bishnu, Bhupen Auditorium at Borpathar near Dibrugarh with the participation of all section of the society. The programme was held by constituting an organizing committee which has A.N. Salehuddin Ahmed Hazarika, President of the foundation as Chief advisor, Kripal Phukan as president, Ikbal Ahmed as working president, Nausad Ali Ahmed as Secretary Asif Ahmed Hazarika as organizing Secretary, Prasanta Saikia as publicity Secretary, Imran Hussain as Magazine Secretary as Safi Alam as Treasurer. The main constituents of the programe was Flag Hosting on 22 November by the president of the Foundation A.N.S. Ahmed Hazarika, Memorial Service to the portraits of Bir Bagh Hazarika and Mahabir Lachit Barphokan , remembrance and Memorial Service to Late Bhimkanta Konwar and Late Biplab Choudharee former adviser and cultural secretary respectively and Felicitation of Dr Nagan Saikia, with a felicitation letter, Japi, Phulam Gamucha and Horai.On 23 November with an introductory speech by Kripal Phukan, a general meeting was held under the president ship of Ikbal Ahmed, with renowned appointed speakers like, Kamala Rajkonwar –President Ahom Royal society, Ismail Hussain –renowned writer, Tufal Zilani –Lecturer of History, Kakajan College, A.N. Salehuddin Ahmed Hazarika –writer and researcher on Bagh Hazarika, Pobitra Mohan Phukan –well known writer and expert on Ahom history and social worker, Krishna Bora-former president of Dibrugarh district sahitya sabha and Sarat Neog –well known writer, journalist and social worker. They all dwelt in length about the life and work of Bagh Hazarika and relevance of Bagh Hazarika in todays Assamese Society. They all emphasized that due recognition and felicitation should be given to Bagh Hazarika considering his patriotism and valor by the govt. A Souvenir named “BaghJori” edited by an editorial board which includes Imran Hussain, Asif Ahmed Hazarika, Prasanta Saikia and Nausad Ali Ahmed was published on the occasion, which has thirty important articles written by some of the most renowned writers and Social scientists of Assam. A very important congratulatory Letter was presented by Central Minister and M.P. Sri Sarbananda Sonowal, wishing best wishes for the Bir Bagh Hazarika Birth anniversary programme, and wished that the life and patriotic works of Bir Bagh Hazarika will always inspire The Assamese Society, generation after generation. He also offered his best wishes for the souvenir BaghJori. Dr Nagen Saikia also issued an congratulatory letter on which he heaped praise on the great commander Bagh Hazarika. Dr Sakia in his verbal statement said that it would be most unfortunate for the Assamese Society if somebody tries to ignore or erase the great patriotism of Bagh Hazarika, he Said history cannot be erased or destroyed and nobody can erase or destroy the great work and historical significance of Bagh Hazarika.The programme concluded with a vote of tanks by the president of the organizing Committee Sri Kripal Phukan.
