FINER welcomes the Assam State Budget 2022-23, presented by Finance Minister, Smt.Ajanta Neog

Rongilibarta – 19-3-2022 — FINER welcomes the Assam State Budget 2022-23, presented by Finance Minister, Smt.Ajanta Neog on 16 th  March 2022. FINER President Shri Pabitra Buragohain specially welcomed the initiative taken by the State Government in the New Industrial and Investment Policy 2022 and said that it will immensely help in the growth of the Industries.
FINER congratulates Honorable Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma for the launch of the New Industrial and Investment Policy 2022 which has been announced during the budget. No doubt it is a very welcoming step for the industrial growth of the state. Hospitals, hotels and cruise services, shipbuilding and vehicle scrap processing facility will be included in industrial sector for various incentives under the new policy. With the announcement of four new road construction schemes and two major bridges over Subansiri and Luit along with 19 new road over bridges, the Government actions will boost up the integration of the society and the region as a whole and this will also economize logistics and help in better Industrial scenario of the State. Under MukhyaMantri Souro Shakti Prokolpo scheme solar power plants to be set up across the state for Rs. 4000 cr. We need to make best use of solar power generation capabilities as available in Assam. Proposal to start new scheme to facilitate cheaper air connectivity from Guwahati to  Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Silchar and Tezpur will boost travel for social and commerce
purposes. The Proposal for new airports in Karbi Anglong and Silchar, along with three new heliports at Nagaon, Geleki and Haflong. Active engagement with government of India for a Greenfield Airport at Diphu will open Diphu for industrial actions as well by MSME investors specially food processing. Assam government in its Budget for the year 2022-23 has announced to give Rs 25 crore to Gauhati University for building start-up ecosystem. It has also announced to give Rs 15 Croreeach to Assam University and Tezpur University and Silchar University and Rs 10 crore for Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Guwahati. Health is one of the major sectors in the budget 2022-23, where construction of seven new cancer hospitals, three new medical colleges and upgrading the existing healthcare is proposed. After health the key sector which taken a major place in the budget is Education.
The budget balances all the sections of the society in the wake of pandemic hit economy.
