Byatikram Group celebrates the Birth Anniversary of Jayanta Hazarika in Association with Xur Bahini 

Guwahati, Rongili Barta- Like every year, this year too Byatikram Group organized the Birth Anniversary Celebration of the legendary singer and composer, Jayanta Hazarika in association with Xur Bahini on the 20th of September at the Pragjyoti ITA, Machkhowa. The music maestro also fondly remembered as ‘Rana Da’. The program started at 2:00 PM at the ITA Seminar Hall and was attended by the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mr. Ruhul Amin; Eminent Singer, Manisha Hazarika; Deputy General of NHPC, Akon Choudhury; President of All Assam Development Council, Mausum Kumar Uzir; Chairperson of Helping Hand Social Foundation, Dr. Bobita Sinha; Eminent Filmmaker and Social Worker, Shankar Lall Goenka; State Mission Director of ASRLM, Krishna Baruah, Eminent Singer, J.P Das; Actor Kapil Bora; Social Worker, Pranesh Debnath; Prof. Jiban Nath and other distinguished guests across the spectrum. The program was laced with song and dance performances by various artists such as Sandeepa D. Sharma, Dhrishtee Devi, Kripamoy Das, Anulata Nath, Nizara Banikya, Jiban Nath, Rinjumoni Saikia, Manashi Devi, Sanskrita Malakar, Sarat Raj, Anuhan Bordoloi and many others. There was also a presentation of live art by Biswadeep Sarma, Protim Saikia, Nabanit Augusti, Garima Deka, Sonia Boro, Tapash Nath, Sentu Modak and Ajanta Das. On the occasion, noted Bodo singer, Ms. Sulekha Basumatary was also bestowed with the Jayanta Hazarika Byatikram Liftime Achievement Award 2023 The Founder of Byatikram Group, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya said “Jayanta Hazarika’s music is timeless and transcends boundaries which has earned him legions of fans in India and abroad. It is our humble effort to bring together the fans of Jayanta Hazarika to celebrate his legacy.” Ms. Sulekha Basumatary said, “I have always been inspired by the genius of Jayanta Hazarika. It feels like I am on cloud nine to be given such an honour on his birthday. I shall continue to take inspiration from this and try my best to take Bodo music forward.” On behalf of Xur Bahini, eminent singer and Jayanta Hazarika’s wife, Mrs. Manisha Hazarika said, “Xur Bahini is Jayanta Hazarika’s child. We are glad to be celebrating his short but eventful life on this momentous occasion.
