Assam Governor Shri Acharya pays tributes to former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya paid floral tributes to the portrait of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary at Raj Bhavan. It may be noted that Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee who served as the prime minister of the country for three terms, died on 16, August, 2018.
Speaking on his punya tithi observed at Raj Bhavan today Governor Shri Acharya said that Vajpayee was a distinguished statesman, poet, and visionary leader who profoundly influenced the country’s political landscape. Paying his rich tributes to the former prime minister, Shri Acharya spoke on some of the significant milestones like Pokhran-II Nuclear Tests, Golden Quadrilateral Project and Economic Liberalization achieved while Late Vajpayee was at the helm.
The Governor also said, “Vajpayee ji’s life and achievements serve as a guiding light to the present and future generations, which reminds us of his enduring impact on the nation.” Two minutes silence was also observed to pay homage to the former Prime Minister. Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S S. Meenakshi Sundaram, officers and staff of Raj Bhavan were also present on the occasion.
