Assam Engineering College emerges champs in Red Ribbon Quiz 2022
Rongili barta- The team from Assam Engineering College (AEC) emerged champions at the State- level Red Ribbon Quiz competition on HIV awareness that was held at Dispur College auditorium on December 1, 2022. The team from AEC comprised Arindam Kashyap Ray and Dishya Baishya secured a total score of 270, followed by the team from Gauhati Medical College, who were last year’s champions of state-level Red Ribbon Quiz by securing a total score of 225. The team from Jorhat Engineering College were second runner-up in the competition. Teams from Dibrugarh University, Silchar Medical College and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta received consolation prizes. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- along with trophy and certificate. Altogether eight teams vied for the Red Ribbon Quiz 2022 trophy. The other teams that participated in the competition include SCS College of Agriculture, Dhubri from lower Assam zone, Assam University (Diphu Campus) from the Barak Valley zone. In order to increase HIV awareness amongst the youth, every year Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) organizes Red Ribbon Quiz amongst colleges and universities across Assam. The zonal level competitions were conducted through online mode on November 9 & 10, 2022 where the winners and the first runner up teams from the four zones qualified for the State- level competition. The winning team at the state-level competition will compete in the Regional level Red Ribbon Quiz competition which will be organized by National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) at Kohima, Nagaland on December 8, 2022 where teams from the states of the eastern region will participate.
