CDSL IPF, Yuva Unstoppable and Amar Chitra Katha Bring Storytelling-driven Financial Literacy to Empower Nearly 21,000 Students

Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has begun the distribution of its Amar Chitra Katha investor education comic series to nearly 21,000 students across 60 schools, in collaboration with Yuva Unstoppable. The initial outreach marks the beginning of a broader effort to take engaging financial literacy content to young learners across the country.

Developed by CDSL IPF in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, the illustrated comics make financial literacy more accessible and engaging for young learners by introducing age-appropriate concepts related to saving, investing and responsible financial behaviour.

The distribution covers five of the twelve languages in which the comics are available — English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu. The current set of comics covers concepts relevant to students in the senior classes. Additional comics in the series are under development for students in the junior classes.

Speaking about the initiative, Shri Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF Secretariat, said, “Financial literacy is a life skill best nurtured from an early age, because the power of compounding applies not only to investing, but also to learning. Our collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha and Yuva Unstoppable brings together an engaging storytelling format and a strong distribution network to make financial concepts easier for young learners to understand. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage children to develop responsible financial habits early and carry these learnings into their everyday lives.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Amitabh Shah, Founder & Chief Inspiration Officer, Yuva Unstoppable, said, “The school is a key institution where one develops skills applied throughout life. We are encouraged by this opportunity to partner with CDSL IPF to take much-needed financial literacy to the students at our partner schools and shape the future of our nation.”

Gayathri Chandrasekaran, Editor in Chief, Tinkle Comics, said, “Money is a subject that preoccupies most adults but is barely discussed with, much less taught to children. We are pleased to partner with CDSL IPF to create stories that explain the basics of saving and investing in an engaging manner. I hope the comics reach thousands of children across India, and they’re inspired to apply financial literacy in practice.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to promote financial literacy through engaging and accessible learning formats, CDSL IPF has developed a series of investor education resources in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha. The initiative includes comic titles such as The Unofficial Ustaad, The Golden Peacock Fraud, and The Garden of Prosperity, available in both digital and physical formats. The Garden of Prosperity has also been adapted into an animated investor education film, extending the same lessons to young learners through a video.

By offering content across physical, digital and video formats, CDSL IPF aims to cater to diverse learning preferences and expand the reach of financial literacy among young audiences.
