Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of the Dibrugarh Head Post Office, Hiren Kumar Gogoi, said that the installation of this state-of-the-art facility is a step towards further strengthening the Digital India mission. He stated that the Dibrugarh Head Post Office is the first post office in Upper Assam to receive this facility. After Guwahati, Dibrugarh is the second location in Assam where the machine has been installed, and a similar system has subsequently been introduced in Cachar. The automated machine allows customers to book parcels and other postal articles independently by completing the entire digital process themselves. This not only saves time but also makes postal services more transparent, efficient, and digitally accessible. However, customers must ensure that the weight and dimensions of the parcel fall within the prescribed limits. Booking is possible only if the article can be inserted easily through the designated slot of the machine. The Department of Posts has appealed to the public to make full use of this new digital facility. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Postmaster Bipul Thakuriya, along with other postal officials and staff members.
