Governor inaugurates Skyway connecting Brahmaputra and Barak Wings of Lok Bhavan

Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Assam Governor, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, today inaugurated the ‘Skyway’ connecting the Brahmaputra and Barak Wings of Lok Bhavan, Assam, at Lok Bhavan.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the First Lady of Assam, Smt. Kumud Devi.

It may be noted that the project ‘Skyway’ has been built to connect two separate wings of the Lok Bhavan that fall far apart. A brief technical overview of the ‘Skyway’ project was presented by Executive Engineer, PWD (Building), Shri Arup Das.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Acharya expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for the initiative and support in strengthening infrastructural facilities at Lok Bhavan. He stated that the newly inaugurated facility ‘Skyway’ would significantly facilitate smooth movement and enhance functional efficiency for officials and staff working in the two wings of Lok Bhavan.

Following the inauguration, New Year celebrations were organised with the Lok Bhavan Parivaar where child artistes were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in music and other aspects of culture. The Governor and the First Lady warmly exchanged New Year greetings with the family members of Lok Bhavan employees and extended their best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram along with officials of Raj Bhavan were present in the occasion.
