Tezpur University Holds Conference and Book Launch

A conference was held on November 8, 2024 at Tezpur University on “Harendra Nath Barua and Contemporary Assam” and also had launch a book named “Asompran Harendra Nath Barua: Sampadakiya Aru Anyanya” editorial by Sri Diganta Ojha at the Council Hall. The event was organized by the Department of Assamese and the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism to honor the memory of Harendra Nath Barua.
The event highlighted Barua’s important role in Assamese culture, literature, and journalism. Mr. Diganta Ojha was invited as Chief guest and shared his views on the philosophy of Harendra Nath Baruah and his contributions to Assamese society and culture along with Harendra Nath Barua’s ideas that helped in Assamese society and brought about social change. Other discussion panelists, including Prof. Chandan Kumar Sharma from the department of Sociology, Prof. Abhijit Bora, head of Mass Communication and Journalism, and Dr. Sanjib Pol Deka from the Assamese department spoke about the importance of Harendra Nath Barua’s works and also about the launch of the book.
Faculties and students from both departments attended the conference. The event provided a meaningful space for students, teachers, and the community to honor Barua’s contributions to Assamese society.
