A Starlit Song for Tarali Sarma – Heramba Nath

A Starlit Song for Tarali Sarma

Heramba Nath

(Dedicated to Tarali Sarma on the occasion of World Music Day)
When dawn uncloaks the blushing skies,
A voice, like light, begins to rise.
It glides through groves, it stirs the stream,
A melody born of earth and dream.
Tarali’s notes, both tender and wise,
Are woven with threads of lullabies.
The raga’s grace, the folk song’s hue,
Within her soul, they bloom anew.
Each word she sings, a petal’s fall,
Each tune, a prayer, a lover’s call.
Her voice — a star in Assam’s night,
A beacon soft, a silver light.
Classical strains and modern air
Dance in her breath, beyond compare.
She gathers past and future’s grace,
And sings them into one embrace.
On this World Music Day, with hearts aglow,
We send our wishes where her songs still flow.
To Tarali Sarma — voice divine,
A melody eternal, a sacred line.
May her music forever gently rise,
Like dawn’s soft light in Assam’s skies.
