Actress Mridula Baruah awarded “Basant Award 2025” by the National-Ethnic Unity Forum in Dibrugarh:Maanas Robin receives Bishnu Prasad Rabha Award from Asom Barta
M Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta: In coordination with the central Bohagi Farewell Festival held over two days with a vibrant cultural program at Chowkidingee Field in Dibrugarh, Assamese film actress Mridula Baruah was officially presented with the “Bosonta Award 2025.” The award includes a memento, a certificate of honor, a traditional gamocha, a seleng chador, and a cash prize. At the same event, a commemorative book titled “Aikya” (Unity), edited by journalist Jyotish Kumar Patir, was unveiled by Jyoti Borgohain, president of the Dibrugarh Literary Society. The open meeting, inaugurated by noted litterateur and President’s Award winner Gandheswar Saikia, was graced by literary figure Dr. Hridayananda Mahanta, senior journalist and secretary of the Greater Dibrugarh Press Club Ratul Burhagohain, Dr. Premananda Das, political advisor of the National- Ethnic Unity Forum Chandan Phukan, president Ranaranjan Gogoi, secretary Bitupan Duwara, celebration committee president Manoj Kachari, secretary Mintu Dutta, and several other distinguished individuals. During the daytime program, a colorful cultural procession titled “Aikya Parade” was also taken out. The parade, inaugurated by renowned actor Arun Hazarika, featured the enchanting actress Amrita Gogoi and Dhyanimohan, among others. Cultural troupes from various ethnic communities participated in the parade, marching from Chowkidingee Field to Thana Chariali and Phoolbagan.In the evening cultural session, popular singer Maanas Robin performed songs. Due to the prevailing national situation, the event concluded by 10 PM. As part of Asom Barta’s fifth anniversary celebration, the BishnuPrasad Rabha Cultural Award 2025 was officially presented to popular singer and music director Maanas Robin by Tanay Bora, publisher and director of Asom Barta newspaper, staff reporter M. Hashim Ali, associate Nabajita Bora, and others.
