Assam Governor attends celebration of state foundation day
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended the state foundation day celebrations at Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium here this evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Acharya highlighted the significance of State Foundation Day, urging citizens to celebrate the occasion and cherish the rich history and culture of their respective states. He, on the occasion paid tributes to those personalities who contributed immensely to the attachment of statehood. The Governor also paid his homage to the unflinching commitment of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united the princely states to strengthen the edifice of Sashakt Bharat.
Shri Acharya echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “One India, Great India” and highlighted the government’s objective of promoting and strengthening unity in diversity. Today’s celebration included Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Chandigarh’s foundation days.
“This event strengthens emotional bonds among our people and fosters awareness of India’s rich heritage,” Shri Acharya concluded. The event was attended by First Lady of Assam Kumud Devi, MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Advocate General Devajit Saikia, Mayor GMC Mrigen Sarania, Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Harmeet Singh, Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S.Meenakshi Sundaram along with a host of other dignitaries.
