Assam readies to appoint 30,000 government employees

Guwahati, Rongili Barta- Nearly 30,000 Grade III and IV posts for different departments under Assam government will be filed up in the next few days. Over 14 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the recruitment examinations scheduled for 21, 28 August and 11 September next. State chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a virtual meeting with the district magistrates and other stakeholders on Wednesday and directed the deputy commissioners to scrupulously adhere to the standard operation procedures in letter & spirit for maintaining a fool proof mechanism for recruiting the competent youth transparently. Meanwhile, State information and public relations minister Pijush Hazarika appealed for cooperation from the people in the recruitment drive. Mentioning about the probable anti-CAA protest demonstrations in the coming days, Hazarika urged all concerned not to create any unwanted situation in the name of agitation. “We may have differences in terms of our ideology, but one should not create restless environment during one of the largest recruitment drives of the government, keeping the job aspirants as the hostages,” said Hazarika in a press briefing, adding that in 2019 the anti citizenship amendment act protesters misled the common people with twisted facts and statements. Some miscreants even damaged many government and private properties in the name of protests. Those anti-social elements even did not spare the Shankardev Kalakshetra complex in the city. Hazarika asserted that the conscious people across the State understood the reality and hence the electorates gave an impressive mandate to the BJP led government in Dispur.
