36 Hajj pilgrims vaccinated in Dibrugarh

Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta- Hajj pilgrims of Dibrugarh were vaccinated at “Eidgah Community Hall” situated at Graham Bazaar under the aegis of Dibrugarh District Hajj Committee and District Administration today, on 28-4-24. A total of 36 pilgrims from Dibrugarh will go to Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia this year. Of the 36 pilgrims, 20 are male and 16 are female. They were also given training on how to perform Hajj by experienced trainers on April 16th. Today, Dr. Utpala Baruah and two nurses, Jayanti Gogoi and Lipi Konwar from the Joint Director of Health Services Department, Dibrugarh provided vaccination and polio doses to the pilgrims. They were assisted by Trailokya Baruah, Mrinmoy Hazarika, Mandeep Baruah and two ASHA workers Niyoti Dey and Tasnim Banu. The pilgrims said that only vaccination and polio doses are provided by the government but no medicines are provided and they urged the government to consider this matter. The pilgrims submitted their receipts of final installment of payment of amount for the Hajj to the Central Hajj Committee in Guwahati on April 27. Stating this the Assam Hajj Committee Chairman Alhaj Nekibuz Zaman said that if anyone is unable to submit the receipts till now, then they can contact the Guwahati Hajj Committee over phone. It is to be noted that earlier, the deadline for deposit of receipt was April 27 but it has been extended till May 4. Zaman said that starting from 16th May, two daily flights will take the pilgrims directly from Guwahati to Medina airport from where they will be taken to Mecca. This year, a total of 4,000(four thousand) pilgrims from Assam is visiting the holy place and they will return to their home after staying there for about forty days.
