Raj Bhavan Assam celebrates foundation day of Uttar Pradesh
Celebration of foundation days to strengthen the spirit of National Integration and the essence of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat: Governor
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: In an attempt to celebrate the cultural richness of the country and its unique traditions, Raj Bhavan Assam under the leadership of Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, celebrated the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh at a programme held at GMCH auditorium here on Friday.
It may be noted that as a part of Government of India’s decision to celebrate the statehood days of different states in the Raj Bhavans across the country, Raj Bhavan Assam celebrated the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh in the presence of people belonging to Uttar Pradesh. The Day was celebrated to promote and cherish the nation’s cultural diversity and its rich traditions.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Acharya highlighted the significant role played by residents of Uttar Pradesh who work in Assam. He stressed that it is their responsibility to equally love and respect their place of work, Assam, including its language, culture, and traditions. This, he said, would strengthen the bond of unity among the people of the states.
The Governor further emphasized that respect for one’s motherland must remain a top priority. He urged everyone to fulfill their duties in a manner that contributes to the nation’s progress and helps India regain its stature as Vishwaguru.
He also spoke about Assam’s rich cultural heritage, describing it as a land of cultural enchantment. He acknowledged the profound contributions of saints like Sri Sri Sankardev and Madhavdev in shaping the socio-cultural identity of the state.
The Governor also said that events like these serve as platforms to celebrate and understand the cultural heritage of different states, fostering unity and strengthening the ideals of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
The celebration was attended by the First Lady of Assam Kumud Devi, Minister of Hill Areas Development, Transport, Co-operation, Indigenous and Tribal Faith etc Govt. of Assam Jogen Mohan, Minister, Sports and Youth Welfare, Welfare of Minorities and Development Department etc Nandita Garlosa, Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, Addl.Chief Secretary Ajay Tewari, DGP G.P.Singh, Former Director General, Home Guard and Civil Defence Pradeep Kumar, IGP Law & Order Akhilesh Singh, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S.Meenakshi Sundaram along with a host of other dignitaries.
