Officers bid farewell to Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi
Guwahati, Rongili Barta- Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan today bade farewell to Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and the First Lady Prem Mukhi at a function held in the conference hall of Raj Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Prof. Mukhi thanked the people of the state and Raj Bhavan for the respect, affection and support given to him during his stint as the Governor of the State. He acknowledged the support and cooperation the people of Assam extended to him. He also exuded confidence that considering the helping nature of the people and the leadership given by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam would go ahead in reaching a new height of its growth and development. The Governor also thanked the Raj Bhavan officers and staff and stated that nothing could be achieved without their active cooperation. The Governor also said, “It was an honour for me to be able to serve the beautiful state of Assam for the past more than five years as the Governor of the state. I take it an opportunity to thank everybody for their support. I am happy with the results of our concerted efforts, and I have faith that the state will continue to prosper and move forward.” The Governor also asked the staff to work earnestly and contribute to the development of the nation. He also asked them to take good care of their health and maintain a balanced life to achieve good productivity. It may be mentioned that Prof. Jagdish Mukhi took charge as the Governor of Assam on 10th October 2017. The farewell programme was attended by Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S.Meenakshi Sundaram, other officers and staff of Raj Bhavan.
