Media Sensitization workshop on Tobacco Control held in Assam
Dispur , 6 th October : The State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC) in collaboration with the organization International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) have organized State Level Media Sensitization Workshop on Tobacco Control today at Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli. The participants from various Electronic and Print Media across Guwahati have participated in the workshop. State Nodal Officer, NTCP, Assam Dr. Arundhati Deka, Senior Technical Advisor, The Union, New Delhi Dr. Amit Yadav, Senior Consultant, NTCP Assam Ms. Arzoo Dutta, Dr. Ashok Kr. Das, Professor, Head & Neck Oncology, B. Borooah Cancer Institute and Tribeni Hazarika, Junior Information Officer, DIPR, Assam were present as a resource persons and they have presented on various important topic on Tobacco Control, COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco products Act) 2003 and the role of media on tobacco control, Assam.
