Launch of Web Portal for Financial Assistance under SDRF to COVID-19 deceased Families in Assam
Guwahati, December: Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Govt of Assam today launched a mobile friendly online Portal to provide quick and easy assistance of Rs. 50,000/– under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to the Next of Kin of the deceased who died due to Covid–19 in the State. The Web Portal provides for submission of online applications by the family members of COVID–19 deceased by filling in the required details in the portal. The programme was launched at an online event in the NIC–Video Conference Room, Assam Secretariat, Dispur, along with all Deputy Commissioners (DC) of the State in virtual mode.
Shri Avinash P. Joshi, IAS, Principal Secretary, Revenue & DM Dept. launched the portal by clicking on the homepage of the portal, https://cmcovidsupport.assam.gov.in/. He appealed to all the DCs to process the applications received in the web portal and complete it within 30 days of the application in accordance with the guidelines given by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and directions of the Hon‘ble Supreme Court of India in WP(C) No. 539/2021 and WP(C) No. 554/2021.
Shri Tapan Gogoi, Senior Technical Director and Shri Rahul Deka, Scientist, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Assam Unit gave an online demonstration of the web portal. The Programme was also attended by Shri Gyanendra Tripathi, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) and senior officials from Revenue & DM Dept., Health & FW Dept., Finance Department and ASDMA.
