He urged the students not to overlook the invaluable contributions of their teachers and parents, urging them to strive to make a positive impact in the lives of the underprivileged. “I encourage you to harness your full potential for the betterment of our nation and its people,” he added.

The Governor emphasized Gauhati University’s significant role as the first university in the NorthEast region, catering to a wide demography with higher education opportunities. He observed that the primary objective of the institution should be to offer degree, diploma, and certificate programs aligning with employment prospects and factors influencing the national economy, leveraging both natural and human resources while ensuring their robustness and inclusivity.

He also said that the university ought to serve as an informal avenue for enhancing the state’s educational framework in conjunction with the formal system. This entails fostering learning and knowledge dissemination through the integration of information and communication technology and fostering diversification.

Moreover, recognizing the importance of skill development, the university should prioritize offering education and training in various arts and crafts to enhance the employability of the youth workforce, he added.

Its mission extends beyond mere broadcasting; it strives to articulate the hopes and aspirations of the diverse populace it serves. Through its programming, Radio Luit plays a pivotal role in fostering community development, social cohesion, the promotion of democratic values, and the celebration of cultural diversity.

India stands as one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with a heritage steeped in centuries of accumulated wisdom. Throughout history, Indian knowledge traditions have been orally transmitted from one generation to the next, serving as a beacon of enlightenment for humanity. Landmarks such as the Nalanda University and Taxashila University stand as testament to the intellectual richness that has flourished within the Indian subcontinent.
