Governor interacts with officers from National Defence College

Guwahati, Rongili Barta:  Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi interacted with the officers from Armed-forces, Civil and Police Services as well as senior officers of Armed Forces of other countries at Raj Bhavan today and apprised them of Assam and its socio-cultural, political and economic characteristics and potentials.

Hailing the works of the defense personnel, the Governor said that the service of Armed Forces has always been a matter of great honour. He said that he felt happy to witness the enthusiasm of young Indians today to join the noble service and serve the nation with pride and prestige.

The Governor informed them of the State government’s mission and vision of bringing about an overall change for all round development of the state. He also talked on the potentials of Assam with Guwahati as the gateway to South Asian countries.  He drew the attention of the officers to Assam’s rich and abundant natural resources, human resources and its diverse heritage in the fields of culture and ethnicities.

 It may be noted that the delegation from National Defence College comprised of 16 officers who are on a visit to the state under Economic Security Study Tour (UI&SST) for understanding India. The Group was led by Major General Rajesh Moghe. Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S.Meenakshi Sundaram was also present during the interactive meeting.
