Governor greets people on the eve of Guru Nanak Ji’s birthday Appeals people to follow Guru Nanak ji’s teachings
Guwahati, November 18: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the Sikh community on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. In a message to the people of the state, the Governor said, “On the sacred occasion of Nanak ji’s birthday, I pay my obeisance to the revered soul and pray for the welfare and development of all sections of people.” The Governor also said that Guru Nanak ji in his journey on this planet, propagated the message of universal brotherhood and peaceful coexistence. Prof. Mukhi moreover said that Guru Nanak ji had set up a unique spiritual, social, and political platform based on equality, fraternal love, goodness, and virtue. He also appealed to the devotees to emulate the teachings of Guru Nanak ji and spread the message of love, compassion and universal brotherhood and transform the society in to his dream. He at the same time urged upon all to adhere to the COVID appropriate behavior while celebrating the occasion.
