Extension program by English dept of Pragjyotish College
Rongili Barta- The department of English, Pragjyo tish College started an extension programme under the lead ership of HOD Priyanka Sarmah, with the support and guid ance of Principal Dr Manoj Kumar Mahanta here today.
Under the programme, the students of the department would devote some of their time to the children of Pragati Primary School, Santipur every week, stated a press release.
Pragati Primary School was adopted by Pragjyotish College in 2018 and the college has been giving special attention to the school and the needs of its students. The students of the Eng lish department with the help of their teachers have prepared a curriculum for the children of the school.
The curriculum has four parts – games, singing and dancing, drawing, and academics. The academics part comprises storytell ing, poetry recitation and simple mathematics. This extension pro gramme has been taken up by the department to bring a change in the lives of the children and make them aware about better living.
