Committee constituted to examine the report of Inquiry Commission with regards to malpractices in conduct of CCE-2013 by APSC
Reports to be submitted within two months
Dispur, Rongili Barta: Assam Government has constituted a five members Committee in pursuance of the Cabinet decision to examine the report of Inquiry Commission with regards to malpractices in conduct of CCE-2013 by Assam Public Service Commission. The Committee will be headed by Jishnu Barua, Chief Secretary, Assam and Niraj Verma, Principal Secretary, Personnel Department will be the Member Convener. On the other hand, Paban Kumar Barthakur, Addl Chief Secretary, Transformation & Development and Personnel Department and Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Director General of Police, Assam will act as members of the Committee. Further Nalin Kohli, Learned Additional Advocate General will give assistance to the Committee on legal matters.
The Committee will examine the report and suggest action-
a) Whether the entire results of the 2013 civil services examination be set aside,
b) In case the above is recommended, whether the candidates would be entitled to notice and consequential hearings following the basic principles of natural justice,
c) In view of the differing nature of ‘omissions’- ranging from increase of marks, change of answer-scripts to complete absence of answer scripts which have come to light, would the action be uniform or graded, depending on the nature of irregularity
d) To arrive at a conclusion, the Committee may also interact with other stakeholders, viz retired and serving civil servants, members of the civil society, etc.
The Committee will submit its report within a period of two months.
