BYATIKRAM’S 7 -DAY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUG ABUSE & ILLICIT TRAFFICKING

A Drug Free Assam is within reach if We, As Citizens, Participate in the Effort To Curb Substance Misuse -Says Governor Of Assam

Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Byatikram MASDO successfully organized an awareness programme to observe the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 27th of June 2023 at Hotel Vivanta, Guwahati, Assam towards creating awareness about drug addiction and the issues it can create and preventing and reducing harmful alcohol and other drug use among the youths and the society.  The programme was graced by the presence of Shri. Gulab Chand Kataria, Honble Governor of Assam;Shri. Gyanendra Pratap Singh, IPS, Director General of Police,Assam; Nishita Goswami, Popular Actor ;Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Tripathi, Educationist and Director of NERIM Group of Institution; Ruhul Amin, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Guwahati; Smt. Jayashree Ghosh, Educationist and President of  Gyan Educational Institutes; Bidyut Mazumdar, GM – Business Development, JIS Group; Lalan Kumar, Founder-Director of Lalan’s Coaching Classes; Sanjay Aditya Singh, CEO of Jettwings Group of Institutes ;Khasrul Islam, Director, Ajmal Foundation and many others esteemed guests.  Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, the Hon’ble Governor of Assam saidthat, “First of all, I must thank Dr. Bharatiya and the entire team of Byatikram MASDO for their concernon a very important issue of the country.The addiction of drugs has become one of the serious social problems and itis a challenge that requires our collective strength,determination,and unwavering commitment to address it effectively.” Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, President of Byatikram MASDO said, “We live in a world where the availability and consumption of illicit drugs have reached alarming levels. We believe in the power of education,awareness,and collective action to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking and thereby if we all actively participate together,we can make Assam,a drug-free state. Actor Nishita Goswami said, “My heartiest thanks to Byatikram for having me here. Today, Istand before you not just as an actor but as a concerned citizen who feels the urgent need toaddress a grave issue plaguing our society—drug abuse and illicit trafficking. It’s high time we unite and take a strong stand against this growing crisis.” Dr. Sangeeta Tripathi said that, ” I am grateful to Byatikram MASDO for having me here. Ibelieve that in order to live a healthy life and ensure a safer future for our generations onlythrough collective action we can eradicate the grip of drug abuse and create a drug freesociety.” The program was then followed by a skit play on “Drug addiction and its Prevention” by the students of NERIM Group of Institution and a cultural programme participated by the local artists. Last year also Byatikram MASDO had organized a 60 Days Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign starting from the Governor House and was extended to another 30 days due to immense response from the public.
