ASACS celebrates National Doctors’ Day-2022

Rongili Barta- Along with the rest of the country, Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) celebrated National Doctors’ Day on July 1, 2022 at ASACS office, Khanapara, Guwahati. The day was celebrated with the felicitation of doctors who are associated with ASACS by Hon’ble Minister for Health & FW, Govt of Assam Shri Keshab Mahanta. Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, the Minister said , “Not only after the birth of a person but even before the birth of a person the doctors play a pivotal role for the well being of person so that he or she can live a healthy life.” He further said , “ During COVID-19, we would see how dedicatedly the doctors rendered their valuable services to the society by keeping their lives at stake.” Project Director, ASACS, Ms Pomi Baruah, ACS, said, “ With the advent of COVID-19, health care has become an integral part of people’s lives and in doing this doctors are providing yeomen service.” She further thanked all the medicos for rendering their valuable services especially during COVID-19. After being felicitated, Principal of FAA Medical College Hospital, Barpeta, Dr Ramen Talukdar said, “ It was really a great honour to get felicitated on this day and such honour given to us will motivate the doctors’ fraternity to work with more dedication in times to come. A host of medicos including Director of Medical Education Dr Anup Barman, Principal of FAA Medical College Hospital Barpeta Dr Ramen Talukdar, Medical Officer of GMCH Blood Bank, Dr Dipankar Baruah, Medical Officer ART, GMCH, Dr Minakshi Goswami, Medical Officer OST, GMCH Dr Sushil Agarwala. Doctor’s Day in India is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, an eminent physician, freedom fighter, academician, and politician.
