Governor administers oath to Dr. Madhumita Barooah as Vice Chancellor of Assam Women’s University
Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office to Dr. Madhumita Barooah as Vice Chancellor of Assam Women’s University at a function held in the conference hall of Lok Bhavan here today.
Earlier, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S. S. Meenakshi Sundaram sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended among others by Chief Secretary, Assam Dr. Ravi Kota, Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Higher Education Department. Narayan Konwar, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice Chancellors of Bhattadev University,Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Science, Assam Veterinary and Fishery University, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Director, Directorate of Higher Education Pomi Baruah, and other senior officers of the state government.
