ICSI 5th Board Mentorship Programme commences in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan

Rongili Barta- The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), inaugurated the 5th edition of its Board Mentorship Programme, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, through its section 8 company, Institute of Governance Professionals of India (IGPI), on 8 January 2026. 

Organised from 8-11 January 2026, the four-day Programme will navigate the Board’s Legal and Regulatory Landscape by way of engaged, experiential and interactive learning, focusing primarily on developing expertise in governance and sustainability practices. 

With the presence of more than 30 Corporate Senior Leaders, Corporate Professionals and Senior Government Officials, from across the country, the programme will feature insightful discussions spanning the following topics:

  • Being Director: Boon or a Bane!
  • Related Party Transactions
  • Board Evaluation and Its Impact
  • Secretarial Standard-1 (SS-1): Meetings of the Board of Directors
  • Mock Board Meetings

Defining the Board Mentorship Programme as a unique opportunity for business leaders, CS Manish Gupta, Former President & Council Member, the ICSI and Director, IGPI, said, “the Board Mentorship Programme aims to strengthen the capabilities of Directors, KMPs, Entrepreneurs and Senior Management, enhancing their preparedness to navigate future challenges”.

Expressing his views on the altering roles of professionals and the expanding responsibilities of Board members, CS Pawan G. Chandak, Vice President, the ICSI and Director, IGPI, said “the pursuit of governance can only be attempted in a top-down manner and the goals and objectives of trust, transparency and accountability can be achieved only in the presence of a well-sensitised Board”.

CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, ICSI and Director, IGPI underscored that the success of any enterprise, organisation, or company is rooted in the collective and collaborative efforts of its leadership. Sharing the IGPI’s vision, he said, “the Board, KMPs, SMPs, and professionals must be aligned by a common purpose and a sustainability-focused mindset to achieve enduring and sustainable success”.
