Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at SB Deorah College
Rongili Barta- On the occasion of the 39th Foundation Day of S.B Deorah College,Guwahati, a voluntary blood donation drive organised by the NSS unit of the College at the college campus on September 9, 2022 in association with Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS), Guwahati. The programme was presided over by the Principal of the College, Dr Dharmendra Nath with Chief Guest, Pomi Baruah ,Project Director ,Assam State Aids Control Society and Programme Officer Dr Ruma Deka and other officials and faculty members. As many as 36 volunteers, including teachers, students voluntarily donated blood on the occasion. In her inaugural speech, Pomi Baruah stressed on the need of spreading awareness about this noble deed in view of the scarcity of blood in blood banks.. Dr Dipankar Baruah,in charge, GMCH Blood Bank too urged those present to willingly come forward to donate blood as it is absolutely safe and involves no health hazards. This was followed by a plantation drive undertaken within the college campus and other programmes.
