Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management inaugurated

Guwahati, Rongili Barta- Assam Governor professor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management and also launched a one year long advanced diploma in occupational safety, health and environment, which is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University, in a function held at Yognilayam in North Guwahati on 6 September. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Mukhi said that nowadays special focus is being given on safety, health and environment all over the world, because these are topics related to public concern. Accidents happen due to inattention and ignorance related to industrial works. According to the International Labor Organization, more than six thousand people die every day due to this reason. Lauding the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor commented that the country is touching new heights of development under his able leadership. Foreign companies are investing extensively in India. It is progressing very fast in the construction and industry sector. In such times, the introduction of courses on safety, health and environment for the youth of Northeast aspiring to work in the construction and industry sector is a great achievement of Sewa Bharati. He urged the officers of the institute to run courses in first aid, firefighting, personal protection, disaster management and environmental protection in the coming days, so that the youth can get employment in these areas as well. Mentionable is that Seva Bharti, Purvanchal is a well known social organization of northeast India which has been serving the region in the field of health, education, disaster relief, etc. It has now established the Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management to deliver various services to the aspirants of the region. Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramukh (RSS) Parag Abhyankar, Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management’s governing body chief Akhil Kumar Das, Seva Bharati Purbanchal president Ramen Sharma, Numaligarh Refinery Limited managing director Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan and a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
