Scholarships for Paramedical Students and Financial Aid Distribution for Needy Cancer Patients by Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati
Guwahati,Rongili Barta– The Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust hosted a special event to distribute financial assistance in support of education and healthcare in the region. The event took place on November 8, 2024, at 2:30 pm in the Conference Hall of the Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, AK Azad Road, Guwahati.
In attendance were Shankar Lall Goenka, Managing Trustee of the Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust; Siddharth Goenka; Pooja Goenka; Rajkumar Ringenia; Abdul Ghani; Doyan Deka; Balin Bordoloi; Barun Goenka; and Byatikram MASDO’s President, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya. Representing the B. Borooah Cancer Institute were Dr. B.B. Barthakur, Director; Dr. Mausumi Bhattacharya, Deputy Director and Researcher; A.K. Kalita, Professor and Head of the Department of Oncology; and Dr. Anupam Sharma, Professor and Head of the Oncopathology Department.
This year, the Trust has pledged a total of Rs 2,00,000 in financial aid to be distributed among six deserving students and two patients in need. This initiative underscores the Trust’s commitment to fostering educational growth and supporting critical medical care for those facing financial hardships. By providing assistance to these beneficiaries, the Trust aims to alleviate the financial burdens of young students aspiring to brighter futures and patients requiring essential healthcare support.
Shri Shankar Lall Goenka, Managing Trustee of the Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust, emphasized the Trust’s dedication to philanthropy, stating, “Established with a vision to contribute to the welfare of society, the Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust has consistently supported various community initiatives, focusing on educational scholarships, healthcare assistance, and other philanthropic activities that improve lives across Assam.” He further added that this event is a continuation of the Trust’s mission to uplift individuals and foster growth within the community.
