Friendship between Assam and Telangana highlights the celebration
Guwahati, Rongili Barta- To take national unity to a greater height, Raj Bhavan Assam under the leadership of Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, today celebrated the statehood day of Telangana at Durbar Hall here today. It may be noted that as a part of the Central Government’s decision to celebrate the statehood days of different states in the Raj Bhavans across the country, Raj Bhavan Assam celebrated the statehood day of Telangana. Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary greeted all on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion Speaker Daimary spoke at length the history of the formation of the Telangana State. He also underlined the existing friendship between Assam and Telangana and people to people relations between the two states. He appreciated the role of the people for contributing towards the progress of the nation and also hoped that both the states Assam and Telangana would work together and contribute towards realizing India of 2047, the year when independence of India will be 100 years. Principal Secretary to Transformation and Developmetn Department M. Ariz Ahammed said that demonstration of unity in diversity in India is something which has made the country unique in the comity of nations. He also hailed the role of Raj Bhavan, Assam for bringing south to east. Hyderabad is a dream City. The beauty of Assam is also unparallel. He said that the celebration of Telangana Statehood day is a wonderful occasion where Raj Bhavan, Assam brought the people of both Assam and Telangana together on a common occasion. Principal Secretary, Cultural Affairs B. Kalyan Chakravarthy said that several people of Telengana living in Assam are contributing to the growth of Assam. Similarly, the people of Assam who reside in Telangana are also contributing immensely. Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram presented the welcome address. DC Kamrup Keerthy Jalli, Associate Professor NIRDPR, NERC Dr. T.Vijay Kumar, Sub divisional Engineer Venu Gopal also spoke on the occasion. Cultural event depicting the vibrant culture of Telangana was also presented. Secretary, Finance, Govt. of Assam Smt Laya Madduri, President, Telegu Association of Assam P. Shrinivas Reddy Students from IIIT, Sai Vikas Institute and people from cross section of the society also participated in the celebrations of the day.
