NCC contingent who participated in the Republic Day parade calls on Governor
Shri Acharya hails the contingent for its commitment and dedication
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: The cadets belonging to NER Directorate, representing NCC boys and girls, that participated in the 76th Republic Day celebrations and the PM’s rally in New Delhi, called on Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan here.
It may be noted that a contingent totalling 179 of which 89 are from Assam participated in the RDC 2025. Their outstanding performance brought immense pride to the state and the nation.
A key highlight of the participation was a song performance titled ‘Desh’, which was adjudged the Best Song at the Republic Day Camp in Delhi.
Congratulating each member of the contingent, Governor Shri Acharya said, “Your participation in this national celebration is not merely an achievement; it is a profound testament to your unwavering discipline, indomitable spirit, and steadfast dedication to the ideals that define our great nation.”
He moreover said, “The Kartavya Path is not just a ceremonial avenue—it is a symbol of India’s journey, marked by the sacrifices of countless patriots and the aspirations of a billion hearts”.
The Governor urged the cadets to maintain their dedication and excellence in training, performance, and discipline. “As the cadets of NCC that have made the Kartavya Path proud, you have a duty to fulfill towards the nation”.
Highlighting the significance of the National Cadet Corps, the Governor termed NCC as the largest voluntary organization in the country, playing a pivotal role in nation-building by shaping responsible citizens and fostering leadership and social awareness among the youth.
He said that the NCC has a very important role to play in the development of youth, who are the future of the nation.
Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, Major General Gagandeep, Group Commander NCC Guwahati, Brig A.K.Bora along with a host of other dignitaries and officials from Raj Bhavan were present during the function.
